PC Repair Prices

• Rates are for normal priority service (2-3 business days if no parts need to be ordered).  For urgent, top-priority service, a 50% surcharge may apply.
• Diagnosis is $60/hr.  After diagnosis, a portion of the diagnosis fee may be credited towards the following fixed-price repairs, if redundant.

Fixed-price In-Shop Services

Tune-up. $75
Optimize system for best performance, remove “temp” files, disable/remove unwanted programs and start-ups, install Windows/critical program updates, verify anti-virus/security program status, check temperatures & voltages, check hard drive health.

Virus / Malware Removal. $135
Remove rootkits, viruses, trojans, worms, rogues, adware, spyware and other malware.
If the virus/malware has corrupted Windows beyond repair, Windows may have to be re-installed instead. See below.

Set up New PC. $95
Perform initial set-up, optimize for best performance, uninstall trialware, install anti-virus program.
Installation of application programs not included.

Install / Re-install Windows. $95
Install/re-install Windows, including important Windows updates and backup and restore of user data (up to 50GB).
Assumes hard drive is healthy, i.e., no bad sectors. Re-installation of application programs not included.
For data in excess of the 50GB, see the Data Transfer / Back-up rates below.

Upgrade Windows 7 /8 /8.1 to Windows 10. $95
Upgrade a functional installation of Windows 7 /8 /8.1 to Windows 10.
Microsoft support for Windows 7 ended January 14th, 2020, after which no updates will be issued.

Laptop Repair
•  Screen replacement: $95 + parts
•  Overheating remedy and/or fan replacement: $95 + parts
•  Motherboard repair: $125 – $250 + parts
•  Motherboard repair attempt fee: $90 + parts
•  Motherboard replacement:  $95 + parts

Hard Drive Cloning / Upgrade
Clone a healthy hard drive (with no bad sectors) to your new hard drive and install it in your PC:
Windows+data:  0-460GB $75,  500GB-1.5TB $125,  2+TB $150
If the drive has errors, it can be assessed to determine what data is recoverable and what it would cost before proceeding.   

Data Transfer / Backup
Transfer/backup user data from a healthy hard drive (with no bad sectors) to another hard drive or PC:
User data:  0-460GB $75,  500GB-1.5TB $125,  2+TB $150
If both data backup to customer’s external drive and (concurrent) restoration of the backup to customer’s new PC required, add 50%.
If the drive has errors, it can be assessed to determine what data is recoverable and what it would cost before proceeding.
